Meet Quincey “Q” Hill
As he will be the first to tell you, friends call Quincey “Q,” and the same goes for his customers. Q has been working in the automotive world since 2011, and he is still just as passionate about it as he was the day he started. Not only has Q won Salesman of the Month for eight consecutive months, but he is also a Ram, Jeep, Uconnect, and Mopar Expert, as well as a Wagoneer Ambassador. Don’t let the accolades fool you, though. One reason customers love Q is his down-to-earth personality.
When not helping folks find a new ride, Q enjoys playing his saxophone. On his days off, he can be caught playing on his co-ed softball team. Of course, Q is most passionate about his family. He is right at home when cheering for his kids on the sideline during their sports games.

How To Check if Your Tires are Bad
At Cable Dahmer, we want to ensure your vehicle is functioning safely on area roads. Part of that means taking good care of your tires. And there are actually a few ways that you can do that without needing to come into the dealership. By following these tips, you will have peace of mind that your tires are in good health.
Check Tire Pressure Monthly
Maintain proper tire inflation by checking the pressure at least once a month. Use a reliable pressure gauge to measure when the tires are cold, ideally before driving or after the car has been parked for at least three hours. Compare the readings to the recommended pressure listed on your vehicle’s doorjamb or in the owner’s manual, not the maximum pressure on the tire sidewall.
All modern vehicles do offer some kind of tire pressure monitoring system, TPMS, but it is still a good idea to manually check tire pressure just in case.
Inspect Tread depth
Adequate tread depth is essential for traction and safety. Use the penny test to check your tread:
- Insert a penny into the tread groove with Lincoln’s head upside down and facing you.
- If you can see all of Lincoln’s head, your tread depth is less than 2/32 inch, and it’s time to replace your tires.
For a more precise measurement, use a tread depth gauge or the quarter test (if the tread touches Washington’s head, you have at least 4/32 inch remaining).

Examine Tire Condition
Visually inspect your tires for:
- Cuts, scrapes, or punctures
- Bulges or bumps
- Cracks in the sidewall
- Uneven wear patterns
Any of these issues may require professional attention or tire replacement.
Check Tire Age
Locate the DOT code on the tire sidewall to determine the manufacturing date. The last four digits represent the week and year of manufacture. Consider replacing tires that are more than 6-10 years old, even if the tread appears adequate.
Rotate and Align
Regular tire rotation (every 5,000-7,500 miles) and wheel alignment (annually) help ensure even wear and extend tire life. While you can certainly rotate your tires yourself, our team at Cable Dahmer makes the process quick and easy. We can even perform a full tire inspection to make sure everything is as it should be. Schedule a service appointment online, or reach out to us to learn more.
Schedule ServiceBenefits of Nitrogen in Tires
Benefits of Nitrogen in Tires
Putting nitrogen in your vehicle’s tires comes with a number of benefits. That is why, here at Cable Dahmer, you will find our cars, trucks, and SUVs already come with green tire caps. The green caps mark that the tires are filled with nitrogen!
Why do People Put Nitrogen in Tires?
Having nitrogen in your tires can increase fuel economy, reduce tire pressure fluctuation, and even improve on-road comfort. With nitrogen, you also don’t face the same impurities that come with dry air. The biggest benefit we’ve found with adding nitrogen is not having to deal with changing tire pressure as often. After all, who likes to see that pesky air pressure light displayed on the dash?

Testing done by Consumer Reports showed nitrogen to lose less air than tires filled with dry air over an extended period of time.
Do I need to pay for this?
No! When you purchase a vehicle or choose to service with Cable Dahmer, we’ll put nitrogen in your tires completely free of charge.
We believe in the benefit of nitrogen so much that we do it for you. Many of our customers have come to appreciate this program. It’s just a part of the Cable Dahmer Difference.
When it comes to nitrogen in tires, it is important to fill them only with nitrogen. Mixing dry air and nitrogen eliminates a majority of the benefits. We can help with this at one of our eight dealerships across Missouri and Kansas. If you have questions about putting nitrogen in your tires or the benefits that we at Cable Dahmer offer, reach out. You can schedule a service appointment or simply contact us to learn more.

Cable Dahmer Not Impacted by Automotive Cyber Attack
At Cable Dahmer, we take the safety of your data and privacy seriously. That is why the recent news of a cyberattack affecting the automotive industry has put our team on high alert. Fortunately, Cable Dahmer does not use CDK software, and none of our stores have been impacted by the attack. We continue to operate normally at all locations, meaning you can shop at Cable Dahmer with confidence.
What’s Going on with CDK?
CDK Global, which serves over 15,000 retail locations across North America, fell victim to back-to-back cyberattacks on June 19, 2024. The company promptly shut down most of its systems as a precautionary measure, triggering widespread disruptions across the automotive retail landscape. This software is integral to dealership operations, facilitating everything from vehicle sales and financing to inventory management and customer relationship management.
The impact on dealerships has been significant and multifaceted.
Many have been forced to resort to pen-and-paper methods for conducting business, a stark contrast to the digital efficiency they’ve grown accustomed to. Some dealerships report being unable to process deals, access customer databases, or even reach out to potential buyers. The situation has led to delays in vehicle deliveries and complications in various aspects of dealership operations.

Major players in the automotive retail sector, including AutoNation, Group 1 Automotive, Lithia Motors, and Sonic Automotive, have all reported disruptions to their operations. These companies have implemented alternative processes to continue serving customers, but the inefficiencies are evident. Some have had to sever all connections to CDK as a precautionary measure, further complicating their ability to conduct business as usual.
The financial implications of this cyberattack are yet to be fully quantified, but analysts have expressed concerns about potential impacts on late-June auto sales volumes. The prolonged outage could potentially affect the financial performance of affected dealerships and, by extension, the broader automotive retail sector.
Adding another layer of complexity to the situation, reports suggest that the attack bears the hallmarks of a ransomware incident. According to The Autopian, the hackers behind the attack are demanding a substantial ransom, with negotiations ongoing.
As CDK Global works to restore its systems, the company estimates that the process will take several days to complete. In the meantime, they are actively engaging with customers and providing alternative ways to conduct business.
