All good until it was time for financing!
I went to Cable Dahmer Chevy for the first time to look for a new vehicle this past Saturday (last Saturday of April). We had a great experience test driving different vehicles and our salesman was very helpful. I found a car I liked and we agreed upon a price, but due to me not having my check from a totaled vehicle, we planned for me to come back at 5:30pm today to make my down payment and get financing taken care of. I show up at 5:30 as planned, and by 6:30pm, we still hadn’t been helped in any way besides my dealer tag getting removed from my car. I understand there may not have been a financing person available at the time, but communication is important to me in scenarios, especially when I’m spending a lot of money! I went to go find my salesman, only to be told he was gone for the evening, which again, communicating that would have been appreciated. Unfortunately, I was beginning to get frustrated. I understand things take time and other people are also purchasing vehicles. After speaking with a manager after having been there for an hour, we were told it would be another 30-40 minutes. I told him that that wouldn’t work as I had plans that I was already late to, and my dad had even taken the night off of work to be there with me. My only other option was to come back on Saturday to make my down payment, but I was told that the sale needed to be completed by the 1st, so Saturday wouldn’t work at all. At that point I decided that the car wasn’t worth it and I went to go clean my stuff out of it. As I was cleaning my belongings out, they come out to tell me that I can come back Saturday like I wanted to to complete the sale. I told them no thank you on that offer.
I’m pretty bummed that this situation turned out the way that it did. It really all just boils down to better communication, I would have been fine with a longer wait time had someone communicated that with me in the first place, but when I walked in, I was told someone would be with me within 15-20 minutes but I ended up spending almost an hour and a half there, getting absolutely nothing done. Seems like they didn’t want my business that bad.
